These physio-led prenatal and postnatal strength classes in Canberra are designed to support women through pregnancy, postnatal recovery, and the transition back to strength training — all within a professional, evidence-based environment.
Prenatal & postnatal strength classes
These small-group classes are designed for women during pregnancy and after birth who want safe, guided exercise that supports strength, recovery and long-term pelvic health.
Led by a physiotherapist, each class focuses on building whole-body strength while supporting the pelvic floor, abdominal system and changing demands of pregnancy and early motherhood. Exercises are carefully selected and modified to suit different stages of pregnancy and postpartum recovery, helping you move confidently and remain active.
Classes emphasise controlled strength training, mobility and movement patterns that support everyday activities such as lifting, carrying and returning to exercise. Because the classes are physiotherapist-led, women receive guidance on technique, load progression and symptom management in a supportive and welcoming environment.

A Women’s Health Physiotherapy Consultation is required prior to commencing a prenatal exercise class.
Prenatal Aquatic Classes – No women’s health Consultation Required
Prenatal aquatic classes are the only Bub & Me program that can be attended without a prior physiotherapy consultation.
These classes are designed as a low-impact, pregnancy-safe entry point for women who want to stay active, manage discomfort, and move confidently during pregnancy in a supportive, physio-led environment.
Aquatic exercise is particularly suitable during pregnancy due to reduced joint loading, buoyancy support, and gentle resistance.
Who Can Join Prenatal Aquatic Classes
Women may attend prenatal aquatic classes without a consultation if they have an uncomplicated pregnancy, have been cleared for exercise by their GP or midwife. Women with pelvic pain, complex symptoms, or medical conditions are encouraged to book a physiotherapy consultation before joining.
What is the cost
10-pass for $490 to be used within 3 months
Prenatal & Postnatal Strength - Twice weekly attendance: 2 classes per week — $90/week (55 minutes per class). For use with Prenatal Aquatic and Strength Classes*.
We offer a Prenatal flexible class membership- $53/week paid weekly to use for Aquatic or Prenatal Strength classes*, cancel anytime.
*Note that you need to have an Initial Women’s Health Consultation prior to attending the Prenatal Strength classes.

Are these classes the same as general gym classes?
